synopsis
Luna is a TV journalist living under severe work pressure that causes her immense anxiety and stress. One day, her boss orders her to host a live show and conduct an interview that has been secretly rigged. Due to a series of mishaps and rushing to the studio, Luna arrives late and completely unprepared, without having read the pre-arranged questions.
Despite the overwhelming situation, Luna handles the interview with absolute professionalism and surprises everyone by speaking in Quechua, a native language she had long forgotten. Through this profound experience, Luna reconnects with her cultural roots and realizes that her mental well-being and identity are far more important than any corporate pressure.
about the director
Sairah Josefina Choque Condori is a Peruvian filmmaker, screenwriter, lawyer-in-training, and a prominent Quechua language communicator and educator originating from Azángaro, Puno.
Since 2021, she has served as the main TV news anchor for Ñuqanchik, the national news broadcast entirely produced in Quechua on TV Perú. Her extensive work in cultural preservation includes working as a Quechua translator, interpreter, casting supervisor for indigenous talent, and certified speaker by the International Chamber of Speakers. She has also served as a local councilwoman for the José Domingo Choquehuanca district (2015–2018), a board member of the cultural magazine Alborada Andina, and an active volunteer promoting Quechua literacy among children in Cusco.
In 2023, she made her directorial debut with her first short film, aiming to revitalize her ancestral language through cinema.
