Two lifelong rivals Ratima and Kalima have been appointed caretakers of their empty village. Now in the twilight of their lives, they must forget their past and help each other survive a long and harsh winter.
about the directors
Rajan Kathet is a Kathmandu-based filmmaker working in both fiction and documentary. He is an alumnus of the DOCNOMADS European Masters program, Berlinale Talents, Global Media Makers and the Video Consortium. His films have been showcased at prestigious film festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Sheffield Doc/Fest, DMZ DOCS, Tampere Film Festival, Hong Kong IFF, Taiwan International Documentary Film Festival, Golden Apricot IFF, Short Shorts Japan, among dozens others. Rajan has served as a juror for the IDA Documentary Awards (2023) and the Nepal International Film Festival (2026) and sits on the selection committees for the Alternativa Film Festival and the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival. He is also active in film education, mentoring young filmmakers through local film schools and workshops. No Winter Holidays (2023), Bare Trees In The Mist (2019), Split Ends (2016) are some of his selected works.
Sunir Pandey is a debutant filmmaker based in Kathmandu. In the past, he has worked as a journalist in Nepal, and as a writer, translator, and editor for national and international organizations. ‘No Winter Holidays’ is his first film.
