5 Shorts in partnership with SUDU Connexion
program description
In partnership with SUDU Connexion, Cinelogue presents five award-winning short films from Africa and the African diaspora. Spanning Senegal, Rwanda, Martinique, Ethiopia, and Cape Verde, these films interrogate questions of land, ecology, memory, gender, migration, and belonging through formally inventive and deeply rooted cinematic practices. Together, they foreground a new generation of filmmakers whose work expands contemporary African cinema while remaining grounded in local histories, languages, and lived realities.

In northern Martinique, a widowed father struggles to protect his young daughter when her fascination with local mermaid legends begins to blur the boundaries between myth and reality.
