synopsis

Three filmmakers explore the traces of home cinema in Indonesia. Along the way, they encounter the cinema of Kwee Zwan Liang and the cinema of Rusdy Attamimi. From Jakarta to Amsterdam, from The Hague to Djatipiring, the home movie leads them not only to the culture of cinema that has been established by the public, but also to its aesthetics and ontology of what is home movie from time to time.

about the directors

Afrian Purnama (Jakarta, 1989) graduated from Bina Nusantara University and was a curator of ARKIPEL – Jakarta International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival from 2013 – 2020. 

Mahardika Yudha (Jakarta 1981). Made his first film Rangjebor, co-directed by Mohammad Fauzy, in 2014. He also makes video art and curated many visual and media art exhibitions in the past. Some of his works have been presented in many international art exhibitions such as Singapore Biennale 2013 and Videobrasil 2013.

Syaiful Anwar (Jakarta, 1983) is a filmmaker and has made three feature films: Golden Memories: Dongeng Rangkas (2011), Elesan deq a Tutuq (2013) and Harimau Minahasa (2015). He was also the cinematographer for many of Forum Lenteng’s feature documentaries, such as Seperti Naga yang Berjalan di Atas Air (2012), Anak Sabiran Di Balik Cahaya Gemerlapan (Sang Arsip) (2013), and  Marah di Bumi Lambu (2014).
