synopsis

After more than two decades in the service of Tunisian National Radio, Youssef is about to retire. During the final broadcast of his program Tunis by Night, he is abruptly and maliciously cut off the air. While Amal, his wife, seeks refuge in prayer, and Amine, the eldest son, tries as best he can to hold his family together, Aziza, the younger daughter, finds herself disconnected from the rhythm and values of her family. After a cascade of disappointments, she slits her wrists. Shattered, Youssef retreats to the neighboring bar he has frequented all his life, then allows himself to be swallowed up by a city he no longer recognizes.
